In the midst of its 35th anniversary and in anticipation of the Christmas season, Riberalves reinforces its range of ready to cook codfish with a premium product, Portuguese Cured, in which the best quality and taste are combined with a new convenience. The Boneless Codfish Loins are already available in the market and offer a distinctive consumption experience, also for young people.
The best Portuguese cured codfish continues to reinvent itself and is also served… boneless! Celebrating the Christmas season and celebrating its 35th anniversary, Riberalves launches in the Portuguese market its most recent ready to cook product: the boneless codfish loins! A product that enhances all the flavour and quality that distinguish the brand, but also a whole new convenience.
Subjected to the emblematic Portuguese Curing, for a period of 9 months, and developed from Salted Green Codfish, from the best origin, this new reference results from a whole traditional process in which, in the final stage, each cut of codfish is manually cleaned of any bone. The result is a premium loin, which provides a new consumption experience, guaranteeing the taste, texture and the enthralling flakes, attributes so valued by the Portuguese, the world’s largest and most demanding codfish consumers.
“This boneless codfish is a premium product that adds even more convenience to our range of ready to cook codfish, but is also a more appetising product for those who may be less comfortable with codfish bones, namely younger consumers”, emphasises Ricardo Alves, director of Riberalves. “This is how we fulfil our vision: we value the history and tradition of the best codfish, offering innovative products that meet the new needs of families”, he concludes.
Almost 20 years after the pioneering launch of the first soaked Portuguese Cured codfish (the so-called Ready to cook codfish, which would make Riberalves the reference codfish brand), the Torres Vedras-based company continues to invest in reinventing the consumption of codfish, contributing to the historic moment in the market of the transition in consumption from salted dry codfish to ready to cook codfish. This new category of products already represents more than 60% of the sales of the company.
The new Boneless Codfish Loins are already available in the market in 450G packs.
Riberalves is a family company, 100% national, world reference in codfish processing. Founded in 1985, Riberalves focused its activity exclusively in the codfish sector from 1990 onwards, with the inauguration of a first factory in Torres Vedras.
