<p>On 8 June, World Oceans Day, Riberalves joins forces with the MSC, Marine Stewardship Council, with the aim of giving voice to the cause of ocean sustainability and the preservation of marine life. This awareness initiative is present in the various digital platforms of the brand.</p>



<p>A small gesture can be as immense as the sea. Choosing fish of sustainable origin is a decision within the reach of consumers, who can identify, on various products, the MSC certification seal, a blue label only applied to fish and seafood of wild origin, from certified sustainable fishing. This is the case of codfish of the Riberalves brand.</p>



<p>This MSC certification is highlighted on the<a href="https://riberalves.pt/en/codfish/production-process/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Riberalves codfish</a> packaging. Consumer information is a contribution of the industry in the fight for the conservation of marine resources. It is important to alert to a new collective consciousness, which can contribute to the protection of life in the oceans and also so that future generations continue to have the same access to sustainable fish.</p>



<p>The Marine Stewardship Council is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation set up to address the problem of unsustainable fishing.</p>



<p>Its mission is to contribute to maintaining the health of the world&#8217;s oceans by regulating best practices throughout the fishing and fish production chain, certifying all those involved in the process through the blue label of sustainability.</p>



<p>MSC works with a range of partners to encourage and create a sustainable global seafood market, recognising sustainable fishing practices and informing consumers, at the point of purchase, of the origin of the fish and seafood consumed. </p>

Celebrating the Christmas season and celebrating its 35th anniversary, Riberalves launches in the Portuguese market its most recent ready to cook product: the boneless codfish loins! A product that enhances all the flavour and quality that distinguish the brand, but also a whole new convenience.</p>



<p>Subjected to the emblematic Portuguese Curing, for a period of 9 months, and developed from Salted Green Codfish, from the best origin, this new reference results from a whole traditional process in which, in the final stage, each cut of codfish is manually cleaned of any bone. The result is a <em>premium </em>loin, which provides a new consumption experience, guaranteeing the taste, texture and the enthralling flakes, attributes so valued by the Portuguese, the world&#8217;s largest and most demanding codfish consumers.</p>

<p>Riberalves launches a <a href="https://riberalveslojaonline.pt/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">door-to-door codfish </a>distribution initiative, with no delivery costs, seeking to meet the needs of citizens in the face of the Covid-19 outbreak. Logistics complies with best health, hygiene and food safety practices, as well as with the recommendations of the Directorate-General for Health: no social contact.</p>



<p>Following the outbreak of Covid-19, the characterization of a Pandemic declared by the World Health Organization and the quarantine recommendations advised to the national citizens by several organisms, namely the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), Riberalves starts a distribution operation of Ready to Cook Codfish at home, in the District of Lisbon, without delivery costs, trying to cover the needs of the citizens.</p>



<p>The initiative aims to minimize the limitations in individual travel, making possible that only one person, the Riberalves employee, can reach as many homes as possible. In this sense, deliveries are made possible by Riberalves&#8217; own distribution fleet, installed and operating in the District of Lisbon, with guaranteed agility, not being able, for logistical reasons, to extend to other parts of the country.</p>



<p>The operation, from order processing to delivery, observes the best health, hygiene and food safety practices, as well as the DGS recommendations, related to the prevention of contagion from Covid-19. In this sense, deliveries are made upon pre-payment and orders are left at the door of the indicated addresses, without social contact. Still, Riberalves appeals to all DGS recommendations to be followed by customers.</p>
