Codfish Shepherds Pie

600 g deep-frozen soaked codfish Riberalves
1 package of frozen puff pastry
1 cup of bread crumbs
200 g of butter
2 onions
4 teaspoons of flour
4 cups of milk tea
4 eggs
Salt and pepper
1/2 nutmeg
1 egg yolk

Heat the chopped onions with the butter and let them brown without burning. Add the shredded codfish and the crumbled breadcrumbs, seasoning with salt and pepper. Separately, dilute the flour in the milk and add the beaten eggs.

Mix all the ingredients with the codfish and heat again, stirring constantly, until the flour is cooked. You can (and should) sprinkle with half a nutmeg.

Line a greased baking tray with the puff pastry rolled out with a rolling pin and fill with the filling. Cover with another layer of puff pastry and brush the surface with egg yolk. Bake in the oven until the pastry has browned. Serve the Codfish Shepherds Pie hot or cold, preferably with a salad.
