Laffan Codfish with cream, See full recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Place the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/riberalves.pt\/en\/codfish\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">codfish<\/a> <\/strong>loins in a saucepan; add the sliced <strong>garlic<\/strong>, <strong>milk<\/strong>, <strong>cream <\/strong>and 3 <strong>bay<\/strong> leaves; cook the <strong>codfish at <\/strong>medium heat for 7 minutes; flake and reserve the cooking broth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Cut the <strong>onion <\/strong>into julienne strips; in a frying pan place a drizzle of olive <strong>oil <\/strong>and 1 bay leaf and saut\u00e9 the <strong>onion <\/strong>until caramelised. Set aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Peel the <strong>potato <\/strong>and cut into cubes; fry until golden brown and set aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Place the <strong>butter <\/strong>and <strong>flour <\/strong>in a pan; blend until smooth; add 1lt of the codfish cooking broth and stir constantly until it starts to boil; remove from the heat and season with <strong>salt<\/strong>, <strong>black pepper<\/strong>, <strong>nutmeg, zest <\/strong>and juice of 1 <strong>lemon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.&nbsp; Place some of the <strong>b\u00e9chamel <\/strong>on the bottom of an oven tray; make a layer with half the <strong>potatoes; <\/strong>spread the <strong>onion mixture <\/strong>over the <strong>potatoes; <\/strong>add the flaked <strong>cod; <\/strong>add the remaining <strong>potatoes; <\/strong>cover with the remaining <strong>b\u00e9chamel; <\/strong>sprinkle the grated <strong>Queijo da Ilha (Madeiran cheese) <\/strong>and bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 180\u00baC or until golden brown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/riberalveslojaonline.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/riberalveslojaonline.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/bacalhau_riberalves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">READY TO TASTE GOOD!<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":4647,"template":"","categories":[54,259,52],"colecoes":[339,345],"tipos-bacalhau":[244],"class_list":["post-5764","receitas","type-receitas","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-chef-recipe","category-originais-en","category-traditional","colecoes-family-meals","colecoes-traditional","tipos-bacalhau-codfish-steak"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Laffan Codfish with cream - Riberalves<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Shall we prepare a traditional recipe for a tasty meal with Chef Laffan?
