Baked Codfish with Alheira Sausage

Ingredients

2 Riberalves Ready-to-Cook Shredded Codfish Steaks
4 medium-sized potatoes
Salt to taste
Olive oil to taste
2 onions
2 cloves garlic
1 alheira sausage
Parsley to taste
Black pepper to taste
500 ml bechamel
Butter to taste
Breadcrumbs to taste

Preparation

For today’s meal we are going to prepare a delicious Baked Codfish with Alheira Sausage. See the full recipe below!

Thaw the codfish, cook in boiling water for 10 minutes, remove the skin and bones, and flake.

Boil the unpeeled potatoes in salted water. Drain, let cool slightly, remove the skins and cut into half-moons.

Slice the onions thinly into half-moons and chop the garlic. Soften them in olive oil.

Remove the skin from the sausage, crumble it, add it to the onion mixture and cook, stirring, until the sausage is well mixed in. Add the codfish flakes, potatoes and chopped parsley, season with black pepper, and stir to mix. Add the bechamel sauce, check the seasoning, adding salt and black pepper as necessary, and mix everything together.

Put the mixture into a buttered ovenproof dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and bake in the oven until golden brown.

Serve your Baked Codfish with Alheira sausage hot with a side salad.
